Speak up, please.

I was in a meeting yesterday, and I found myself very confused.

Why was the person sitting across the table from me, just sitting?
Why weren't they sitting with one knee on the chair, one knee on the table, chin propped in their hands, 2 inches from my face and speaking to me in what an average person could only define as an "outdoor" voice?

And why were they answering the questions I asked instead of telling me their favorite color 8 times (different every time)? Then launch into a story about how they aren't going to make it to the next meeting because they are going to a MOVIE! and a MOVIE! takes all day. No, Mrs. M it is not 2 hours long. It is the ENTIRE DAY. Even though that wasn't what I asked.

What was wrong with them?

As I sat there and pondered this (because I couldn't hear them speaking in such a soft indoor voice), I realized. . .

I need to be around adults a little bit more.
